I sneak around a night and make demonic sounds and rattling noises and have been telling him that the devil is in the house. I am going to keep scaring him for a few years and then have an exorcism of the house and make all the evil go away. He'll always want Jesus after this one.

You can't honestly be serious. No matter what you do, the truth will come out. What you do now is only a temporary band aid. Once he gets wise to what you are doing, think how much stock he is going to put into either what you say or what religion might say. At some point in his life he is going to say something along the lines of "Yeah sure mom... just like the demons and the exorcism." Be real and honest with your kid. He will make the right choice if he is taught what the right path is. What you are doing is something I would do to my younger brother when I was a kid. Be an adult and let him choose through experience and wisdom that what you say was the right way to go.

actually in doing so you are inviteing negative energies and entities into your home (DEMONS). the fear that your child will have of them will give them a doorway to get in. and after that it will be very hard to get them out. because you were the one that created an enviroment where they could thrive.

they will probally attempt to make a deal with your child..
"we will leave you alone, if you pretend not to see us in front of your parents" type of thing. after that they have a way back in.

getting a christian priest to do an exorcisim is a hard thing to do in the first place. the vatican(the only christian org. that admits to having exorcists) even keeps it's exorcisim branch low key. the church does not want anyone to believe that the demons of satan can effect them as long as they believe in God.

even if you find one. most priests do not believe in demonic possession and hauntings. so they will do the ritual just to make you feel better and you will still have the problem because the ritual was not done with any real faith or conviction.

then you end up turning to a Mystic or witch just to get some peace of mind. and again you have to find one that has a clue as to what they are doing.

I believe that was the wrong thing to do. The best thing to bring your child to God is by setting the right standard at home, also by giving them a solid foundation upon which they can build their livs, dreams and conviction.
What she needs to do, instead of scaring her children, is planting a seed of the gospel. The verse that I'm thinking of is from Proverbs " Train up children the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
I believe on this verse, so if the child learns to turn from sin and to trust in Jesus when he is young, as he grows older, he will not depart from his savior because God has already set him apart for God's own glory.
The other verse that I can think is Deut 6:1-7 "These are the commandments which the Lord your God commanded you. And you shall teach them dilligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."
So teaching your child the 10 commandments as a start, to awaken their conscience and prepare the soil of their hearts for the live giving seed of gospel.

Galatians 3:24 " The law is our school master to lead us to Christ"
Romans 7:7 "I would have not have know what sin was except through the Law"

Once a child understand what sin is, he/she will need forgiveness, and the good news about Jesus taking punishment in the cross for us will make more sense.

Romans 5:8 " God demonstrated His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. "
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world He gave His only Son, that whoever believe in Him will not be perish but have everlasting live."

Repentace.. Teach them about that, repentace is simply a determination of turn away from what is wrong. Tell them that Jesus love them, and will give them a new heart once the surrender their hearts to Jesus. Help them to begin to love God and obey God.
I guess that's all I can say. It work all the time with my 'adopted niece'. So.. hope it will work for them too.
SCARING THE CHILDREN ABOUT DEMON,IT"S JUST GOING TO MAKE THE CHILD BITTER ABOUT GOD.
Because he /she will got the wrong impression about Christianity. It's not about demon. It's about how God love them.

If you do that, after you scare him half to death, how do you not know if then it may start for real.... then what?
The best thing is to be truthful to your child. Especially if you want him to be truthful, some children can sense lies, you don't want your child to lie, do you? be your child's example and the child would follow, plant the seeds, and the child would see the light in the child's time appointed by God. Everyone has a appointed time, God does this for his purpose, a reason for everything, God teaches through experience, God is doing the work, the Child has a given gift and will, a purpose for God's will.
Be patient, and understanding, it takes time.... don't rush God's plan.... God knows when to push the child. "figure of speech"
Pray to our Lord about it.
God Bless!

Ok first I asumme that you are achristian. And if u are my question now is, "have you felt the presence of God" If the answer is no then I would suggest that the next time u are alone tell God that u want to feel his presence expect that he will answer and he will. Ok now if u have felt his presesnce then instead of tricking ur child pray that he also would feel the presence of God make this a habit and show him what a gift it is. He won't want to turn from God if he sees how amazing he is. Don't worry every child goes through periods in their life when they doubt god but always encourage him in the faith and PRAY!!!!

That's just horrible. You can't MAKE your child stay a Christian. Just know that once a child has been dedicated to God, they'll always come back.

that's awful to do-why are you trying to scare him into submission? and if you're a christian, why are you telling him the devil is in the house? you have more than a few screws loose.

I don't think it's right to trick someone into a religion, such as christianity through deception. You know the bible speaks out against lying, right?

It seems kind of hypocritical.
