You may get caught through any number of channels. If you subscribe over the telephone your phone number may be captured and can lead the police to you. If you use a compuer, the IP address can be traced and lead the police back to you. If you do get caugt you may be charged with identity theft - a felony. No matter what, he probably won't have to actually pay for the subscriptions because he will likely just claim fraud and cancel them. Your little plan is likely to land you in jail and land your "friend" nothing more than some free magazines.

You can easily be caught. If the magazine seller is in another state it is mail fraud. Major jail time.
The only way to avoid having your IP traced is to use the computer at your public library, or to go someplace like Kinko's where they let you pay for on-line time. Then you would need to have an email already in place to give to the mag company for verification. But even then it is a very tangled web.
Best to avoid the whole thing. The potential for being discovered s too great, and then your stalker person will have the last laugh.

Those magazine companies are shystier than you could ever hope to be. They are basically the only ones who will get the raw end of that deal. LOL! You will only get caught if you are a dumb criminal. Don't get caught. It isn't going to solve the problem though. If this person is truly stalking her, she has the right to pursue it with local law enforement agencies and make him stop. Honestly, has any magazine company made you pay up? LOL!

You probably can if the police dept. wants to be bothered pursuing it. There are more important criminals that they would probably want to catch.
I believe you could get caught when the "stalker" contacts the magazines and they investigate how everything started.
Why not just avoid this person?

They can see either by the post office where the order came from or trace your IP address, so yes. If they investigate you will get caught & fined.
