Hell of a question, I hope for your sake it was hypothetical.
I have never been told that, but after the protection I used turned out not to be so protective, I went for test and for nearly 2 weeks I was wandering how I would bring up my daughter if the worst happened.
During that time I lived by the philosophy of hope for the best but prepare for the worst, luckily everything came back negative.
These days there are drugs that will slow down the process from HIV to AIDS, people live long and fruitful lives with HIV and if you are positive, I can only hope you are one of them.
Good luck and my thoughts are with you.

In many ways I expected it - I knew I had been living on the edge for far longer than could possibly be healthy, so, when i was told I think I was already fully prepared and accepting of it. I have many friends who have been HIV+ for 15 - 20years and who were told top prepare for death on their diagnosis. I was told that it was easily manageable and that with some changes to lifestyle, my life expectancy was "normal". Oddly, many of my friends (not the ones with HIV) freaked out at the diagnosis more than I did. Ce la vie!

This is a sure sign of Griebaturism, very rare, but I have come upon it before, not here in England but while touring the Keys in Florida, one of the islands is called Marathon, an HIV magnet, there they have a family who are called the Griebats, this family have been inbreeding for close to three centuries, in some severe cased namely one in France shortly after the first world war, they hung Herbert Montaray Griebats, thinking him a monkey, sounds crazy I know. The condition of Griebaturism manifests itself by way of covering either parts or in rare cases all of the body. I would suggest not considering building a family with her as the horror of bearing a chimp like child to be too much to bear. Lots of luck to you

I would think of it like this, first of all it's not AIDS and with HIV you can now live a long time as long as you take care of yourself and take your meds like your supposed to there are alot of worse diseases out there like ALS, MS umm..yeah i can keep on going. If someone is in the early stage then they have a very good chance.Trust me that is not the worse disease out there.

I have not been infected with HIV, thanks to God, or any other STDs. But I understand that each person will have malignant depression / anxiety when they experience the symptoms of STDs or they have been told about positive STD test results.

Let's get cure it! That is my reaction and here is the plan

Quick Action

1. Eat only organic, fresh whole foods, emphasizing nutrient-rich fresh fruits and vegetables, and protein foods such as eggs, tempeh, and raw dairy, as well as wild caught fish and free-range, organic meats and poultry. Also eat plenty of nutrient-rich complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, bean, and legumes.

2. Drink plenty of pure filtered water throughout the day.

3. Avoid all alcohol, caffeine, refined carbohydrates, pasteurized dairy products, all forms of sugar, white flour, and commercially processed foods, as well as soda, commercial fruit and vegetable juices, and commercial, non-herbal teas.

4. Important supplements to boost immunity include vitamin A, beta carotene, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin E, biotin, folic acid, magnesium, manganese, potassium, and zinc. Free form amino acids and essential fatty acids are also recommended.

5. Useful herbs include astragalus, bitter melon, Carnivora (Venus flytrap), Echinacea, garlic, ginseng, goldenseal, isatis root, and licorice root.

6. Hyperthermia (heat therapy) can significantly improved resistance to the opportunistic infections associated with HIV/AIDS, especially when used in conjunction with proper diet, nutritional and herbal supplements, and other alternative natural therapies.

7. Helpful professional care treatments include acupuncture and oxygen therapy (hydrogen peroxide, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ozone therapy), both of which can boost immunity and destroy bacterial, fungal, and viral infections that can severely compromise the health of people with HIV/AIDS.

8. Healing unresolved emotional issues such as anger, fear, guilt, and hopelessness, is also essential, as such emotions can depress immunity when they are suppressed or inappropriately expressed. Reiki is a form of energy healing that will help with this cause.

Best of health to you

Cheers

It was tremendously chocking...like a death sentence. My level of morbidity skyrocketed. There is no feeling to describe it. I screamed my heart out! I felt powerless.
