Yes, she will lose weight. And muscle tissue and brain functionality, strength and endurance. She is dangerously below what she needs in a day (usually 1200-1600 calories are recommended for those who are extremely overweight). Sounds like she may need to seek counseling because if she sees something different than what really exists when she looks in the mirror, then her mind's eye needs to be reprogrammed. These are often beginning signs of anorexia and bulimia. Encourage her to talk to a counselor. She is in danger of harming herself by doing these things. This is not the time to keep your thoughts to yourself. If necessary, ask for help from a trusted adult to intervene. She may get mad at you, but it's worth it to save her life. Be encouraged.

800 calories would be considered a dangerously low calorie intake. It will help her lose weight but will also affect her health. Sounds like your friend may have an eating disorder. Especially if she is the only one that sees her as fat. Talk to her parents you may loose her as a friend but you may save her life. Most people lose weight on 1,500 or 1,000 calories a day.

RE:
If You eat 800 calories a day will you lose weight?
Hey! I'm really worried about one of my friends she is saying she is fat when she is not. I insist on telling her she is fine the way she is and is beautiful but she thinks she is huge. She's told me she is on this diet that she only eats 800 calories a day. Is this true? is this healthy?...

800 cals a day is very low, she won't get enough nutrients and vitamins eating that few of calories. I don't know how much exercise she does but 800 calories won't produce much energy. Without knowing her whole story it is hard to suggest anything, but it would be better eating more calories with additional exercise.

800 calories a day is extremely unhealthy. Sure, you'll lose weight, particularly if you exercise, but your body's internal organs will suffer, especially your gall bladder and liver.
It sounds like your friend has anorexia nervosa. It's an eating disorder. If she won't listen to you, talk to her parents or yours. It's past time for an intervention.

If you cut your calorie intake by just 100 calories, you will lose weight safely. The more time you take, to take off the weight, the more likely the weight will stay off.
If you cut too many calories out of your diet, your body knows to hold on to your weight (for protection against starvation). It's a simple concept, but most people don't understand it.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!
