He talks. People claim to have seen him or at least his finger. Some scriptures talk about him as spirit, but some don't. Are people just married to their own ideas??

It is my belief and the belief of my church the God does have a body. Think about it, we are created in his image, thus he should look similiar to us. Furthermore, like you said. People have claimed to see him and the brother of Jared, his finger if I remember the story correctly. It only makes sense for the Lord to have a body. The only beings who don't have bodies are Satan, because he was cast out of heaven without a body, and those who have not come to Earth yet.

The reason why many Christians believe this is this scripture verse right here:

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth." -John 4:24 New Testament of the Bible

That's why we Christians insist on this God is a spirit! For us, to insist otherwise is like heresy. Besides, God is Spirit! It is only recently that He revealed Himself in a solid form( a.k.a Jesus Christ). However, God ,in His essence, in His original form is a Spirit and who says a spirit cannot talk? A Spirit was the person or personality that led Abraham out of Ur, away from the Chaldeans to become Hebrew, Therefore starting Judaism. It was a Spirit that foretold the coming of Christ the Messiah. It was a spirit (The angel Gabriel) that announced to Mary that she would give birth that Messiah.) starting Christianity. It was a Spirit that talked to Moses and gave him the Ten commandments. A spirit can speak . Not just God's spirit, any spirit really (angel, demon). That's why one should be careful when one has a spitirtual encounter and test and prove whether that spirit be from God.

Yes, God is a spirit.. But unfortunately, people trully do not understand the concept of God being a spirit. All things that were created came out of God. God is more real and alive than we are. People have it backwards. We are the ones who are shadows of His image and likeness. The book of James talks about how our lives are like a vapor. Here today and gone tommorrow. But God is eternal and forever. He is so real that when He showed up at Mount Sinai before Israel, it caught on fire and melted. If God were to walk this earth in His full glory every thing in His path would dissolve and flee at His Presence. This is why He has chosen to rule the earth from His kingdom. He did not create the earth to handle his full glory. So spirit is more powerful and real than we can conceive in our fleshly minds.

If some scriptures talk about Him as a spirit, and they do, then why would you think it strange if Christians think He is a Spirit? Now Jesus took on human form and so we see God in flesh and blood. So Christians don't see Him only as a Spirit.

The Bible tells us that God is a spirit " God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth" (John4:24) No one has seen God or his finger, not even Moses was allowed to see God "And he said, thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me and live" (Exodus 33:20). John the baptist said "No man hath seen God at any time" (John 1:18) The only way we see God is through Christ " Philip saith unto him, Lord shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip ? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father ; and how sayest thou then , shew us the Father ?" (John 14:8-9) People will just look at one verse without looking in the whole context of the scripture.

I think His normal existence is Spirit and yet He made us in His image and likeness. So He must have some kind of resemblance to Him.
