I started using an acne medication with salicylic acid in it. I think that's why the skin on my face has dried out. What can I put on it, to help moisturize it? I tried a medicated lotion, but that didn't help.

STOP using the acne medication for one. (If it's an rx, talk to your doctor first.) But for OTC stop using it....wait a few days and get a new treatment WITHOUT salicyclic acid. The same thing happened to me. Right now...as it's getting cold...your face may dry out easier anyway....but the acid was what made my face do that....switched products and had no more problems.

Clinique facial moisturizer. The action of the acne medication is to dry out the pores thus drying up the oil that causes pimples.
Minocycline is an antibiotic that is good for acne. Ask your dermatologist for a Rx.

dont use that anymore, it will just cause more break outs. if you are still using it, stop, and put some good lotion on your face. proactive works well, and they have a complete system, to keep your face moisturized, so that your face doesnt dry out and make more oil.
