Just wondering if B complex vitamins have much of an affect on OCD/depression or even PMS symptoms.

Yes I tried them and I can't see any change, honestly. For deficiencies vitamins are fine--I take them myself. But they don't do much of anything to such complex issues like OCD/mood/depression. Try Lyrica. It is great for all the above. I swear by it. Talk to your doctor.

I am totally and completely sold on B Complex. I have been taking it for several years. I have bipolar & anxiety disorder/w depression & slight OCD. All the natural healing books I have read have always included B Complex as being extremely helpful with mental disorders...It sure doesn't hurt you anyway! I also take daily multivitamin, vitamin C and fish oil (Omega 3). I have to take several prescription meds, so I really do try to do what I can to help my body handle all the side effects, to the best of my ability!

yes, I take vitamin B supplements with my other vitamins. I also take B-12 dots under my tongue from wal mart. The B vitamins give you energy, help depression, prevent anemia and are great for pms. I'm past pms I am taking them for energy and depression and menopause. I also take and took or used bioidentical hormone creams for the symptoms. There is a profile test you can take on hormonr profile.com website to see what you may need. I find it helps with all my symptoms. Good luck. a cheap place for progesterone cream is my health coop website. The cheapest I've found so far for that product. They don't have them all on that website though, I always look up the product after the test to find it cheaper if possible. good luck.

After I lost a baby at 21 weeks my doctor prescribed Zolft for me and he told me that vitamin B-6 also helps with depression. He told me that a lot of women get Zoloft to help with severe PMS symptoms.

I was diagnosed with psychotic depression a few years ago. I was seeing a holistic psychiatrist and besides being on a few medications (an antidepressant and an antipsychotic), she also gave me B-12 shots (turns out that after lots of tests, it showed that my body wouldn't accept B vitamins except through my blood stream.) Besides that, I took folic acid and Omega-3. It all has to do with your brain chemistry. It helped me.
