I am thinking about buying accidental death and dismemberment insurance. Good or bad idea? Have you had any good or bad experience with any life insurance companies? Denied claims? Fine Print? If so, please explain and tell me which company.

Thanks!

If someone depends on you financially, you should get a life insurance policy, which covers death by any cause, accident or illness. Term insurance has never been cheaper. Go to www.term4sale.com to get an idea of what it's going to cost. Then, find a competent licensed agent to help you get the lowest premium from a quality company (A+ rated or better). Applying online is OK, but you'll get better service from a licensed agent, especially if there are any difficulties with your application.

AD&D insurance is generally a poor choice.

Let's first just explore the death part of it.

Why only insure yourself for one kind of death....accidental, when you could cover yourself for any kind of death?

Your chances of dying in an accident are very, very slim. But your chance of dying of any cause is exactly 100%.

So why buy accidental death insurance, when you can just buy regular life insurance and get paid no matter how you die?

I can guarantee you that every life insurance company is going to have a host of good experiences and bad ones.

There are so many good life insurance companies that asking for bad experiences from them is doing them a disservice, because even the best companies are going to have people who had a bad experience because they didn't understand what they are buying.

Just like your beneficiaries will be sadly disappointed and mad at the insurer if you buy AD&D insurance but then die of a natural cause and then all the premiums you paid were wasted...when you could have put that money into a good term life policy for not that much more money.
