I have a pet dachshund that has diarrhea and it is vomiting. I would like to know what I should feed the dog for food and drink to help it along.

Your dog needs to see the vet. But until the appointment do not feed him anything in the next 24 hours, keep water next to him at all times however. He will need the water to prevent dehydration, you can even mix the water with pedialyte (baby electrolyte drink) 1/2 water 1/2 pedialyte. No food in the next 24 hours to try to help him stop vomiting and diarrhea until the veterinarian can see him (persistent vomiting can cause ulcers in the esophagus and stomach as well as electrolyte abnormalities and diarrhea can dehydrate him and make his rectum very sore). Good luck and get him to a medical professional ASAP.

Take it to the Vet immediatly. Most Vets offer a or provide a number for an after hours emergencies. If you have already taken the dog, give it time for the meds to work. Try giving it Pedialyte.

See if the dog is dehydrated. Lift up the dogs skin just down from between the ears (where the mother dog would pick it up) if the skin stays up and doesn't immediatly go back down the dog is dehydrated- Go to the vet! If it goes back down, the dog is not dehydrated- yet. If the vomiting and diarrhea continues the dog will be dehydrated and may need to be given intravenous fluids.

Best advise I can give is go to the Vet now!

You can try some boiled chicken mixed with plain rice. This may be bland enough to help his stomach settle.

If this has been going on for more than 24 or 36 hours, or if there is any blood in the stool, your dog should go to the vet as soon as humanly possible. Call your vet, or an emergency vet, and just ask them what you should do.

You need to get her to the vet. There should be an emergency vet available. If she's vomiting, you don't need to feed her anything for a little while....she's just gonna vomit that up too. Until you get her/him to the vet try some unflavored pedialyte mixed into her water to decrease the chances of her becoming dehydrated. But don't wait too long to get her to the vet. At least by tomorrow if she's not better.

You should take it to the vet! Diarrhea and vomiting could be signs of something serious (like Parvo). Small breeds especially can get dehydrated very quickly, and doxies in particular have certain problems that frequently develop. Get him checked out asap!!!

Go to the vet!!!! Usually, fasting for 24 hours can be helpful. NOTHING by mouth for 24 hours. There is no point in adding to the problem by feeding!!!!! It will just keep comong out or up.

I would without food and water for 24 hours. You really need to take your dog to the vet to rule out parvo or something else.

You need to take it to the vet and have it checked. It could have parvo or something as bad. Has he has all its shots?

To keep it from dehydrating... You can give it lemon-lime gatorade. And take it to a vet.
