A "click" is a short way the GI used to indicate a kilometers or 1000 meters. This term is used almost anywhere the GI went from Europe to Asia. It is also used to indicate the adjustment to the rifle sight for elevation and deflection. In Germany it was used to indicate distance and speed where it was common to use kilometers. We could convert kilometers on a 50 miles to 80 kilometer ratio. If the speed limit was 80 km we should drive 50 mph. If we knew the distance was 8 km we knew that was about 5 miles.
