I need your help. My best friend was diagnosed with leukemia and might even have a brain tumor too. He's depressed about it, and I'm worried about him. What can I do? Is he going to live long? Am I going to lose my best friend? I need your help and answers ASAP. What all can the doctors do in order for him to live? What's going to happen to him? V_V;

The main thing you can do is be supportive. Be there for him. He needs you to be strong, and I get it, it's difficult, but you need to be strong for him. Don't get involved in the medical stuff, it'll just confuse you...let the doctors take care of that. You have to let him know that you'll be with him, there for him, no matter what happens. Medically speaking, I would need more details to know exactly how long he'll live, if he'll survive and so on. Some types are more agressive than others, so you really have to talk to his doctors to get the specific information. The only thing I have to say is that you have to get him through this. He needs someone, and if you're his friend, this is the time to really show it---this is the time to shine. Good luck to you and your friend, and I wish him many many happy years with you by his side!

Stand by your friend and be willing to listen.

Let them know you care and will be there for them if they need you. Don't try to think of high and mighty things to say, just let them know you care and you will be there. Don't make your friend feel like a space alien.

If you are religious, pray for them.

Humour is good. Take them to a movie or take a movie to them, you know they would like.

Mostly don't be awkward or make them feel different. This is something happened to them but they are still the same person.

He is lucky to have a friend like you. You must just be strong and be there for him, but do not show that you feel sorry for him, I know thats the last thing he would want. Get him to talk to you about his situation it will be good for him to get it off his chest. Do things like you would normaly do. There might be some anger from his side, but this is normal, just be strong. GOOD LUCK
