I know I can keep going, but I completely stop my body and start walking. For example, I would run and when I'm about to reach the finish line, I just stop and walk it.

I look very fit and I run track and field. I can sprint short distances, but I want to sprint longer distances without getting so tired! I can't even run the mile without stopping once every lap.

I need some really good advice and what should I eat to keep me in shape?

i'm a cross country runner and trust me, your problem is common:

1: pace yourself. cross country (long distant running) is all about pace and breathing. you can't sprint the first lap and then expect yourself to run the whole thing at that pace!!! that's crazy! you need to set a pace that's pretty teady.

2. start out smaller. before running the mile perfect, try running the half mile without stopping. then 3 laps...you have to build up to something. it took me 2 months to build up to 18 laps around the track, but i did it and now 18 is sooo easy for me. ((25...now thats getting harder)).

3. eating? they're actually not that relatede except for keep to healthy foods. before the day you run, eat lots of carbs. carbohydrates really help when running. try not to eat sweets or caffine the day you want to go running. they might seem like they'll boost energy, when in reality they help you slow down and breathe harder and harder.

4: other than that, you've got to tell yourself your not gonna die! people stop running for no reason. what's the worst that can happen, actually getting a good time??!!! nothing can happen so relax and run harder.

have fun and be positive.

do you know anyone with two or three Big Dogs? ha ha ha just kidding- but I think it will work--- sounds like your endurance is low- you need to up the workout little by little until you reach the spot you want- but remember the machine works at optimum when it gets the good fuel ( raw veggies- fruits- no fast food- no processed food- ck out the ingredients in what your eating they can slow ya down) eat to live- do not live to eat- yes- you can still have a donut from time to time but wash it down with plenty of water- and you may have to do an extra 100 sit ups! your body also gets in a rut---- you may have to chang it up from time to time- like if you run 3 miles a dya do 3.5 or do 3 and 200 situps and jump rope or squats- enjoy

I have been where u r. First remember your body knows best! And as far as wanting to contiue running--I know for myself, that if it hurts,I'm already past the hard part and in a second or two that rush will kick in again. But please always remember--your body knows best. I was a sprinter not long distance--check with a trainer and find out what you are built for. Good Luck and Take Care

Don't force yourself. What I recomand is start with a mile then increase your distance alittle each day, soon as you know it you could run six miles without stopping, but never force yourself to do something that your body is not ready to do.

just force you self and think someone is hot at the end of the finishing line and run faster because you want it!

Good Luck!
