I did a Roman feast when I was working as a chef, the best results I got were from a site on the net for Ancient Roman Recipes, either Google it or do a Yahoo search.

But for that period, fish, lamb, vegetables, honey, flatbreads but like the Roman foods I found there will be ingredients that are not available or sound strange and may require a bit rangling, not impossible.

Try this site;

Can I safely assume this is a school project for history class and you have to bring in food people ate in Mesopotamia?

Pita bread, lentils and other small beans, honey, fresh cheese (cottage cheese, yogurt), mustard or other greens and veggies, lamb or beef, and beer (!)... Look up Middle Eastern foods, and take out the olive and grape products, as those are of European origin and wouldn't have been used during the early formation of farming communities there...
Hope this helps a little!
