I'm new to this subject and need help...

So when something with rechargeable batteries won't turn on, and I was trying to use a USB port to charge it, and still it won't show life. Does that mean something is wrong, or is it normal?

Here's my problem my mp3 player suddenly turns off and it won't turn on when you press the power button. And then when you try to charge it with your computer, it still won't show any life.

A USB port isn't a charger. Either check the batteries in the player or find out if it takes a charge adapter.

you can charge it by usb as long it is powered. Some usb hubs have a power input. Get yourself a wall plug with a usb plugin so you can charge it with a computer. Charge your mp3 player overnight.
