I'll bet the doctor may have said "ulceritis". Peptic ulceritis is a stomach condition.

By definition, arthritis is a condition of the joints. There are several types, but all involve joint disorders. There are no joints in the stomach, thus this is not possible.
I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere.
~~~~~~~
Arthritis (from Greek arthro-, joint + -itis, inflammation; plural: arthritides) is a group of conditions where there is damage caused to the joints of the body. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability over the age of 65.
There are many forms of arthritis, each of which has a different cause. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are autoimmune diseases in which the body is attacking itself. Septic arthritis is caused by joint infection. Gouty arthritis is caused by deposition of uric acid crystals in the joint and subsequent inflammation. The most common form of arthritis, osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative joint disease and occurs following trauma to the joint, following an infection of the joint or simply as a result of aging. There is emerging evidence that abnormal anatomy may contribute to early development of osteoarthritis.
He must have misunderstood what his doctor was saying to him. Arthritis is in the joints, not in the organs. Was someone else in the room with him while the doctor was doing the exam? If he has a hard time hearing he may need to have someone with him so he is getting the correct information.
I have never heard of arthritis in the stomach. he has misunderstood the Dr. which is not uncommon. If they are that old they really need to ask for a copy of the Dr. notes or have the nurse or Dr. write it down for him so, he can have someone later help him sort it out. Even better someone should go with him. It's a shame.
No, arthritis occurs in the joints. But side effects of arthritis can be stomach ulcers. Maybe that was what the gentleman was talking about. If not, then I think that doctor should go back to medical school.
The stomach is not a bone or joint. One can only have it in their joints. No.
