He retold the soldier's story today on the news and I thought it was a really honourable and noble thing to do. If you have not heard about it, look it up. What are your thoughts?

I just got done reading a number of stories in the USA Today newspaper about a number of soldiers who were cited for their bravery. One laid on his buddy to protect him from a grenade and another actually fell on a grenade to protect his troops. How can people actually not support these heroes????

Sounds like he really deserved the medal and I'm very proud of him. Normally I don't put much regard in medals. It seemed to me when I was in the service, many who deserved medals did not receive them and many who did little got them. I'm never impressed by medals until I hear and believe the whole story. When I was in Vietnam I saw many medals awarded to people who never saw any action. Often Officer buddies often put each other in for medals under false statements and never did a thing. Then again, I saw people risk or even sacrifice their lives and got no credit at all. Not everyone with medal actually earned it.

I am proud this soldier was given the Medal of Honor. I feel every soldier who has fought in this war should be proudly reoognized for their service. Not a day passes That I don't remember to pray for our soldiers here and over seas. It is our prayers, our faith in them and God that keep our troops going.

I'm extremely proud to be a veteran (Korea) and proud of all men/women who have served in the armed forces of our country.
The Medal of Honor is presented for heroism above and beyond the call of duty. Any recipient is worthy of a salute from the Commander-in-Chief on down.
Thank God for men who are willing to lay their lives on the line to protect the rest of us.

I am proud of the soldier, not of the people who put him in the condition where he had to make a choice to save his friends or sacrifice himself.

Bush should be giving a Medal of Honor to the American military leader who publicly spoke out against Bush and the war at a recent convention. That took courage. Instead, this honorable individual might be court-martialed! -RKO-

I am very proud of him and all our soldiers. They are the ones who have fought and died to give us the life we lead today. God Bless him and his family.

But cpl. Duncan deserves it for his actions. He died a hero in every sense of the word.
