I have a good friend that has this. She's on meds but occasionally it still acts up on her, especially when she is high stressed. Try to eliminate as much stress as possible, oh she told me she can't tolerate spicy foods either, so that's another thing to avoid.

Wow! 4 years. Have you gone to a Doctor, if so did he precribe something for you. I experienced this a couple of times and was prescribed something that worked quite well.
If your Doctor is not helping go to another one and see if you can see a specialist. (Hopefully you have Insurance)
Don't let this go on any longer you could have or be damaging other organs.

I have it and my son has it. For me, just adding fiber to my diet helped. For my son, we use an over-the-counter pill called Equalactin. It helps regulate the body's water level regardless if you're suffering from constipation or diarrhea, and it's been helpful to him.
Sorry I can't be more helpful with the lactose intolerance, but hope this helps.
Good luck to you.

I have that also. It's pretty nasty sometimes and I have other digestive difficulties as well. My gastroenterologist gave me a medication that's meant to lower cholesterol, but its main side effect is constipation. You should see a doctor to get your system checked out if you haven't already.
