This is so weird isn't it. You would think there would be some sign. I was another one who felt nothing. I was never sick & of course I saw no reason to go for a mommogram. A chance xray as part of a checkup for something else & there it was. Still the chances are good for her. If she is strong & healthy otherwise she will beat this thing. This year I fought breast cancer. I am now free of it & I feel very well. I know your scared right now but you hang in there. Most women beat this thing & they live many, many yrs. Many go on to live into their 80's. The next monthes are going to be an experience for her alright, & for you but you tell her this for me. Put up one dam good fight. You just stand by & take some of the home responsibilities over for her & let rest when she needs too. Me I have 3 sons & 6 grandchilren. Couldn't have made it without them. Prayers for both of you,

You don't feel sick with BC, and that's why it is going unchecked until a lump is felt or through a mammogram with a followed ultra sound. Physically she will feel ok for the time being. If she needs to have a mastectomy and chemo, after that she will feel awfully ill and needs tremendous support and understanding. She'll lose her hair and eyebrows and should join a support group and she will need to eat very healthy with very little fat. Some people experience some forgetfulness after chemo or some attention deficit, and the one I know said, she cannot multi task anymore, but in time this should all return.
Good Luck to your mom and you.
