This is a great recipe, and perfect for the season.
Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
Crust:
3/4 cup finely crushed ginger snaps
1/2 cup finely ground walnuts
2 tablespoons brown sugar
5 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
1/4 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Filling:
1 1/2 pounds cream cheese - room temperature
1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons brown sugar - packed firmly
3 large eggs
3/4 cup pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons corn starch
1 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon mace
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
1/4 cup evaporated milk
Garnish:
whipped cream ginger snap crumbs
grated nutmeg
ground walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 F. For crust, combine ginger snap crumbs, walnuts, brown sugar, butter and press into
the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch rectangular pan. Chill while preparing cheesecake batter.
For filling, cream the cheese on slow speed in a mixer with the sugar until well-blended. Add eggs and blend on low speed until homogeneous. Add pumpkin puree, corn starch, cinnamon, ginger, mace, cloves, vanilla and evaporated milk, scraping sides and bottom of mixing bowl often. Mix until smooth.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30-35 minutes until cake seems firm in center. Remove cake from oven and
let cool 30-40 minutes before refrigerating. Cover lightly with a sheet of wax paper and chill several hours or overnight.
To serve, cut into squares and garnish each with a rosette of whipped cream in which ginger snap crumbs and nutmeg (or cinnamon) are sprinkled.

All fruits are fruit and vegetables. A "vegetable" is a plant, any part of which is employed for food.

In the superstore, fruits are usually selected much too soon. Some are rocks, many are bad. Some of the fresh vegetables are generally right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

Nothing Thanksgiving-ish about this, but people love it:
Spread soft onion/chive cream cheese over flour tortillas, top with thin slices of salami, then roll up. Wrap in plastic & chill.
Later, slice in one inch pieces, arrange cut side up on a platter, and serve!
Probably cost about $5-7 , and you will get raves!
How come that IRINA person doesn't read what people want?
They want simple, and she gives a 20 paragraph recipe!! I see her all the time.

This is an appitizer.
Get the really large crackers Havarti Chesse and turkey, olives and maybe some green onions. Cut turkey into tiny chunks olives into slices and dice onions, grate chesse. Places turkey, olives and onions on cracker then place chesse oon top put in oven at 350 till melted.
You can use and chesse or any toppings but the havarti chesse always seems to tase the best on these.

You could make a turkey and cranberry dip with crackers. (like chicken salad) Or, one thing that has always been a hit with my family. A veggie "pizza". You buy pre-made croissant dough and roll it out flat and press the seems together. Bake it, then spread cream cheese over the top once it's cooled. Next you top it with chopped broccoli, cauliflower and red bell peppers. Cut it into bite size pieces using a pizza cutter.

Ham & cheese wraps
All you need is:
flour tortillas
sliced deli ham
mayonnaise or salad dressing
cheese slices
shredded lettuce (if you like)
You just add all the ingredients in the tortillas and roll them up. You can even cut them in half after you roll them to make more. Keep them cold, though.
