Is it possible to consciously develop an eating disorder? And even though you KNOW what's happening, you can't stop it?

Yes it is. Actually most people who start, do it consciously and because of their brain chemistry, they are unable to stop (just like drug addicts consciously start something they know is destructive). The person involved should get to the bottom of her emotional problem by seeking cunseling or talking to her doctor. There are simple medications that will not only correct that person's depression (the main cause of eating disorders) but it will also stop the path to a destroed and wasted life.

People who have an eating disorder definitely know that something's not right. The problem is that people get so caught up with how they look that they ignore what is a very serious problem and can cause other health problems as well. People with eating disorders need professional psychological help.
