Cane sugar and water. Or Maple sap boiled. Brown sugar, Corn sugar,[dextrose from corn starch] flavored syrups, add vanilla, or chocolate or mint etc. Boil water and sugar to the stage befor it makes candy, [the ball stage] just get it thickened.

well from wat ive learned, you can use either brown sugar or regular sugar and put a little water in a saucepan so the sugar wont stick, and let the sugar condense down and get real saucy. but remember to use the syrup real quik cuz it will stick and turn back hard. happy cooking!!
