I really need to know - so please don't just say yes or no. I can't find a scone pan in any stores (only online) and becuz they are so heavy, shipping is more than the pan. I would like to bake my scone mix in a larger muffin pan. Or .... any other suggestion is greatly appreciated!

No. You don't need a special pan to create the traditional shape of a scone. Just roll a golf ball size amount into a ball and flatten a bit. It should look like a mini hockey puck. Then, bake on a cookie sheet. I know you don't know me, but trust me on this one girlfriend.

Sure, a scones specific pan is not necessary. I actually have always used a baking sheet as I would for biscuits. Good Luck!

When I make scones, I just bake them on a jellyroll pan, or a cookie sheet.

Heys just a regular cookie sheet works great just like you would for biscuts just form the scone done into triangles like you would a reg. scone and go for it in baking class not to long ago we had one group put in pinnapple and white chocolate in theirs and it truned out great and a lil egg wash on top before you put them in the oven to give them that great golden color best of luck !

Make them round, they will look like round biscuits. After all they are a biscuit in my opinion. You could even put a drop of jam in the middle before baking. Have fun.

You can even bake them in a cast iron pan. When they come out, drizzle on some honey & butter. WOW YUMMY
