Atheists have to turn a blind eye to logic.
They cannot answer the following:
1) How did something arise from nothing?
2) Order arose from chaos?
3) Life arose from non-life?
4) Intelligence arose from non-intelligence?
3 things evolutions cannot explain: 1) Consciousness 2) Increasing Information and 3) The very first life
They do a good job of name calling, but they HAVE NO ANSWERS.
** Checkmate, God **
Perfect example: Christians can look at the science of a 747 jet and conclude that the plane will fly. Christians have faith to get on the plane and fly it. Science only proves the plane will fly, faith gives us wings. Atheists will be left on the ground.

So, is it logical that the purpose for god creating the entire universe was so that we would worship him and that he would send the vast majority to hell so they could be tortured forever, and not even have a chance at getting out? Is that the logical reason he created an entire universe that's so large we will never be able to fully explore it? Just for a few life forms on a miniscule planet in one galaxy of hundreds of thousands? That's logical? Why bother putting planets around other stars thousands of light years away? Why bother creating the universe to be a black hole generator? How do any of those things affect his "plan of salvation?" If it's just to cause awe in us, why did he do that instead of doing something much more direct, such as causing a person's arm to grow back after it's been lost? Why would he create the universe such that we don't need to use him to explain it? We can explain almost everything through natural terms found through science. Why would he do it this way? Why wouldn't he force us to posit him as an explanation for even the most basic of phenomenon?
How is any of that logical?

I'm an agnostic.
I would have to say that believing either way without evidence is a bad idea, but I would also have to say that the world is really screwed up, and if God (or Gods) exist, they are either jerks, or they don't exist.
The less cynical side of me would say that the atheists' beliefs make more sense, because I want there to be a nice God (or nice Gods), or no God (or Gods) at all.
The more cynical side of me would say that if there are gods, they probably are mean, because they have nothing better to do.
Why do you say atheists believe we are here for no reason except to take up space? Atheists I know define their own reason, instead of depending on a 2000 year old book that has little or no bearing on our society today.
And what about the non-Christian monotheists? What about the polytheists? Your question seems very Christocentric.

unlike christianity, the only set thing in atheism is the belief that there is no god, so atheism various from atheist to atheist.
no atheist thinks that the universe simply appeared one day ( we also never said that there was nothing before the world was created, christians said that). and i can honestly say that i dont know what our purpose in life is.
what i can tell you is that i spent a long while thinking about god and looked at various religions, and i found atheism. so for me, atheism is the logical choice. and i am not considered by any means a "hopeless" person.

You've made a number of assumptions and chosen to treat them as facts. So, since your mind is already made up, my stating the facts won't hurt you a bit.
Atheism is not a faith. Atheism means lack of belief in any god, and that's all it means.
Atheism doesn't imply any specific belief about how the universe came to be, nor about how life came into existence. (Most atheists, however, accept the current scientific view of these things, since that's the best explanation we have.)
Finally, you can take my word for it: There's nothing hopeless about being an atheist.

When you think about it, neither set of beliefs are very logical.
It certainly is not logical to think that matter just appeared out of nowhere and exploded...or that all the diverse life forms we see around us evolved from a single cell organism.....
On the other hand, where did God come from? Really now??
I guess the only logical conclusion is that we really don't exist at all!!
Have a nice evening!!

Well, I can say this, when all the denial, the pain, and the heartache a person goes through searching for the answers to life and human existence is complete, if they are sane and logical and realistic they come to the conclusion that God is real and He does exists. Any other conclusion is pure denial or ignorance, take your pick.
Jesus Christ is the only rational, logical choice...choose Him that you may live!

My honest opinion is that atheism is more logical - it makes more sense to figure that something doesn't exist unless given some sort of evidence that it does. Christianity is a faith-driven belief - if one could logically 'prove' Christianity, would faith be needed?
However, where I disagree with atheists is that there is no evidence for a God at all. I think we can make a case that beings that seem 'god-like' to us could potentially exist. All it would take is a civilization that got a billion year evolutionary head-start on us.

well, Athiest beliefs make more sense to the brain and logic.
Unless you really go hard into the bible. My uncle, an athiest once joined a Bible study just to prove it wrong!
However, he came out a total believer, simply by logic! He calculated odds of all these books thousands of years before Jesus came predicting everything about his life (and lots of other things) and being accurate. Especially with having to pass on things for so many generations, if it was all a scam, it would have taken millions of people thousands of years to pull it off. I think we would have heard about this if that was the case.
Keep in mind, he is a scholar. A multi millionaire in A Bermuda Beachfron mansion. He simply walked out after 2 years of Bible study saying.....wow, its true.
Now on the the other hand, the Christian thinking only makes sense to THE SPIRIT in you. If you are only in touch with your brain, you'll never understand spiritual things.
To understand it, you need to literally get "out of your mind" and into your spirit. I hope I helped, I respect your beliefs and that is a good question
Have a great night

I think both have flaws, however, atheists don't think we just magically appeard as you seem to suggest. Neither do atheists think we are her just to take up space. I don'tr know whaere you are getting your info, but that person has lied to you. I prefer to think that I don't need a God to justify what I am. nor to take credit or blame for things that I do or don't do. I don't NEED god, I do however believe and want a God to be able to rid myself of lonliness and hatred.
