Why is the "religious right" so bent on homosexuality?

Question

God hates ALL sin: Sex outside of marriage is fornication, sex with another persons spouse is adultery, eating too much is gluttony, stealing, lying, coveting, etc.

If you are going to "scream" at the gays, might as well "scream" at the movie theatres, all you can eat buffets, drug rehab centers, porn shops, bars and clubs, etc.

All have fallen short from the glory of God. That is why Christ died for ALL mankind.

God loves all sinners: Christ died for all mankind while we were yet in our sin.

Quit focusing on the problems of this world and focus on the Solution, Jesus Christ.

We are to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, help the needy, visit the improsened, heal the sick, etc. without judgement.

Probably because it's trying to warp the meaning of marriage and of family. God made Adam. He made Eve for his partner...so they can procreate. Man was not made for man, and woman was not made for woman.

I think because gays are trying to change the meaning of everything God created, of family, of marriage. They are trying to become a "couple" in marriage and think they are entitled to (someone else's) children within that marriage.

There is something wrong with this, way beyond sin. If two people want to live in sin, that's their business. But they have no right parading around, mocking heterosexuals and the church and then making demands on society for their devious and sinful behaviours.

Why not let murders and pedophiles state that they too are entitled to "rights". I'm sure they could come up with something but society would likely scream just as much at them.

Why people don't make a big fuss about other sins, like pornography, child prostitution, child abuse, etc. is because there are just too many sinners in this world and not enough sin-less to make it all right.

There are bad reasons, like distracting from the divorced and remarried, adulterers, and fornicators in conservative flocks.

However, a lot of the opposition is justified reaction to the sexualization of public life of which the gay rights movement is a part. The attempt at normalizing homosexuality deprives our culture of already weakened common understandings about what sex is, and what sex is for.

Ouch! Honey, lighten up or your going to have a stroke. This old world has always had it's problems. You think sex outside of marriage is fornication, no it's just f*ck1ng. And your probalbly a big fat pig. You stole your sisters lipstick and lied to your mom. And do you know your right from your left nut. I doubt it. You probably don't even have any. Life is to live. Yes and in fact most of those are actively preached against and used in sermon illustrations as evil already! Does your church not preach against most of those????????

The argument against homosexuality really wouldnt be anymore intense than it had to be except that there is an active movement out there to normalize, standardize, and integrate homosexuality into such institutions as marriage and the church labeling it a valid and God-approved lifestyle.

Likewise, I dont know of anybody trying to say that lying is ok and liars are born that way. I dont see anybody trying to say that stealing is ok because theives were born that way and we need to encorporate them into the church and accept them as-is.

We hate the sin but love the sinner. Once you accept Jesus as savior you stop living an immoral lifestyle because you know better. You don't keep living it, what's the point.
