I have backed off such medications and am taking Sam-E and B-12 along with MSM. Its a nice little cocktail of vitiamins and minerals that really helped me a lot. I have fibro, so keeping a good mental outlook is imperative. I found that at about the 2 week mark I noticed a HUGE improvement in not only my mental outlook, but also my physical feelings. I won't say its a cure all, but doing prescriptions was not only extremely costly, but the side effects long term were more than I cared to deal with. And I wanted to be able to have some control over myself that I didn't feel with prescription drugs. My Doctor says I am doing better than all his other patients with this same disease and he thinks part of it is because I am willing to try different things until I find something that actually works. I am not afraid to try. Please consult your doctor and see if this might work for you. Also, you don't say why you are talking these medications. If you have chronic anxiety, you may need more than just a medication adjustment, you may need to be making chagnes in your life to minimize such reactive behaviour. Good luck to you!

it dosen't help you? maybe you could try some relaxation therapy, a massage, or if you can a relaxing vacation. i have heard of a series of tapes they advertise on t.v. that claim they can help a person with anxiety/nervouse conditions, seems like it might be worth it. has any one out there tried these, or know the 800 number. i don't think meds in this category are all that helpful. i don't know of any others that are really any better. i am an r.n., and the ones you describe are the most widely used, although there are a few others, but about the same. if you can do any relaxation tapes, soft music, you can try to train your mind to relax some. i realize that anxiety plagues a lot of people in this world, and our world is stressful at best. sometimes just taking a warm bath and listening to some music you enjoy can help, along with the meds. i hope this helps. good day to you.

I have read some litterature about panic attacks. But they allways seem to have a more scientific approach and that is nothing I need in my struggle to survive those horrible panic attacks. This is a "hand on" and very practical book. I felt it was written to me. I am sure that you are going to feel the same.

Joe Barry writes exactly how I think. The examples are perfectly described. And the method is genius. I recommend this book and thanks Joe Barry for writing it. It changes your life
