The question is how old is this person you are to meet?
Young adults don't seem to understand the dangers there are in life.At 18, I thought I was invincible.I soon learned that I wasn't.Thank God, that nothing serious happened.
If I really wanted to meet this person I would have a friend come along with me.There is safety in numbers. And if the person I was planning to meet did not understand then I wouldn't meet them.
It pays to be "street" smart and cautious.Unfortunately, its a fact of life that everyone are not who we think they are...I am finding that out as an adult.
If your friend decides to meet this person..Meet them in daylight, and in an area surrounded by other people and bring a buddy to keep an eye on the situation.Preferably stay on your own turf.
Good luck..Don't flirt with danger....

Absolutely not. I was born in the 40's so I'm well out of high school and under no circumstances would I ever meet with anyone I chatted with on line. I have a friend who was really messed up over this very thing and this happened when he was in his late 30's. Don't trust anyone you meet on line...

Never go anywhere without discussing the matter with your parents. Whether it be with boyfriends/girlfriends, always let mom and dad know exactly where you are going and what time you will be back.
And, if someone on-line wants to meet with you, tell mom and dad, immediately. The Internet can be a very dangerous place for youngsters who are approached by anyone, young or old.
And, listen to what your parents have to say, always. And, if you can afford it, carry a cell phone when going out.

No. A high school aged child does not have the experience level needed to see warning signs if this "online" person is a bad person.

That is very dangerous. It is very tempting if you feel that you really know this person by chatting with them but it is really easy to decive on here and make up whatever you want to.

i wouldn't i mean thats just my opinion...i would wait...& it all depends on how long they have known each other...but my advice is no...& if they do decide to meet make sure she/ he has a friend with them & meet at a public place....don't let them keep it totally hid,,, & even if there is 1 sign that the oppsosite person has told them not to tell anyone,,,,its definately a NO...becareful

Only if I had some else with me (I mean an adult someone else). I would NEVER go alone! You have no idea who this person is or what their intentions are.
No I have not tried it myself but have heard of enough horror stories of other teens who have.
