Why are human so....?
it happenz this way...i live with my uncle n aunt..whenever i talk about something my uncle starts arguing n gives out his opnion on whatever i say and we keep arguing until it turns out to be he insults me or i say something that he gets upset abt it...its really upseting me now...i want to have some advise how to get away frm this kind of situation or to know why is my uncle reacting this way Thanku



i talk about general stuff..like what happen in uni today what did i hear ...about news n all that..n i dont talk to him ..i prefer to talk to my aunt but he pokes his nose inside n start giving his opinon..and he tells me that you think you are over smart..i adore my own son he never argues his really a nice kid..just when we talking nicly after some hour

Yasmin you are not wrong but you must talk to people like they can understand
i mean you must know that your uncle will not change or be another person so you can make him feel that he is the only smart man in the whole world and you can tell your opinion in the way that he cant feel that you are criticise him or he will feel that you are insulting him i don't know why your are living with him but if there is a daily life situations with him you must make him feel that he is your father and e-mail me if you want to talk about anything and if you need a friend to hear you

Some people, like your uncle, are very self obsessed & feel no-one else's opinion matters. They cannot help themselves. It is like an illness. Always finishing other people's sentences, butting in in the middle of a conversation, jumping in with the punchlines of their stories. I feel that he was probably very lonely as a child or came from a large family where he had to push himself forward in order to be taken notice of. That sort of thing is very difficult to get out of once you are an adult & can come across as aggression.

soz to say but ur not right BUT either is ur uncle he's probs actin lyk tht coz he has to find a way to start an argument or as they call it "a creative discussion" but try to ignore it and thn say something simple n thn see what happens thn.

You need to realize that his opinions are just as valid as your opinions, because that's what they are....OPINIONS.

Don't argue. State what you think, he'll state what he thinks, end of discussion. No harsh words, no hurt feelings. Don't try to prove him wrong, by his perspective he may be right. You have no idea what life is like for someone his age, and so what may be true for you, might not be true for him.

I think u should refrain to talking to ur uncle and c what hapens. If he gets PO'd then tell him to stop being so opiniated.

i know a lot of people like that. what i do is, let them finish what they have to say, nodding throughout, then say "i see where your coming from but i see it like this..." or "thats so true, but couldn't it..." etc etc it doesn't always work, because poeple like that love to interrupt... but then you can say "wait a minute, how can you comment when i haven't even said what i have to say..."

don't talk to him..he is argumentative...maybe he resents you being there......ask him...are you angry that I live here?
