No they shouldn't eat grapes... I guess 1 or 2 once in a blue moon couldn't hurt but I heard of a dog who got up to the table and ate a bowl full of grapes and ended up dying. Sad story..

No!!! Grapes & raisins (as well as coffee beans, chocolate, onions and more) are toxic to dogs. Some dogs are more affected by others, and some of these things have to "build up" to toxic levels... but they are best avoided entirely! Better safe than sorry. Browse around the ASPCA website for more info. They have a list of toxic foods and a list of toxic houseplants too.

Of course they *can*, but they shouldn't. They can be toxic to dogs. As can raisins.

Edit: I'm trying to figure out why after posting studies and articles saying that grapes are toxic, why some people still respond "yes" to the question! I'm also trying to figure out why if proof has been posted, why people thumbs down the answer! Sigh.

No, grapes and raisin contain compounds which can cause severe kidney damage. The amount of grapes or raisins that is toxic actually varies from pet to pet, but since there is no way to know how many is dangerous before hand it makes sense to not allow your pet to eat any.

My two dogs both love the wild grapes that grow in the yard. The grapes sure do not seem to harm them. They also like crab apples, and have a really good time playing with and eating these fruits. At first only my big dog ate these things, and the other dog slowly joined in, because what one dog initiates, the other one has to try as well.

I found this
the APCC began noticing a trend in dogs who had
eaten grapes or raisins: Nearly all developed acute renal
(kidney) failure.

No...dogs shouldn't be fed grapes or raisins. They have been found to be toxic...especially in small breeds.
