Has anyone had a "balayage" hair dye, where the roots are left darker to make the lengths look sunkissed???

Its the same style that Kate Moss, Elle MacPherson, Jennifer Hawkins and Kate Hudson all have at the moment.

I have long, layered hair that I have never dyed and was wondering if I should just go ahead and get it done...

I think leaving roots undyed looks like a bad dye job and I think that alot of other people think the same thing! I wouldn't do it.
