do you agree or disagree that the statement
"do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
is all you need to live in a peaceful society.
If not, why dont we now live in a peaceful society?

I agree with the statement. the reason that we don't have a peaceful society is that not everyone follows this creed.

I agree with that statement. If everyone practiced it, it would be a peaceful society, which is one reason why we don't live in a peaceful society.

I think people should treat others how they want to be treated, and if everyone actually did that, we would have a pretty peaceful society. With one exception, some people like to be treated badly, so if they treat others how they want to be treated, then it wouldn't work out so good. But overall people want to be treated right and fairly, so they should treat people that way. The Key thing is Respect, people need to show it to receive it.

The statement itself is not sufficient, living by that motto is. It has to start with self respect. You have to have respect for yourself and your body in order to respectfully do unto others as you would have others do unto you. No one with self respect would want to be immoral, robbed, harassed, lied to, taken advantage of, etc. Therefore if we all had self respect and treated others the same no one would rob, be amoral, harass, lie, etc.

You are right. Another way to put it, with just one word, RESPECT. That's what the world lacks more than any thing else. The people that own controlling interest in the world spend half there money to start trouble and keep people divided. But then, we still have to be dumb enough to fall for it.

Because alot of people are not satisfied with what they have, they want more. Then there are the ones who want power and control over others. Treat others the way you would like to be treated, doesn't always work that way, but we should try!

We do not follow that wonderful piece of advice. Too many people are more worried about the me aspect of things than taking into account how much could be done for the good if we al got along.
