Most states start the rifle cartridges at .23 caliber and bigger, making sure you stay away from .223 or .222 or .221 or .22/250 etc, There is nothing wrong with any of them, but they want clean kills, I know in Florida you can use 223, for deer. I used to hunt with my AR. Every time I ran into a warden, he would check the mag. Had a block of wood in it for 5 rnd capacity. I hope you are not talking about 22 rimfire, there is no state that allows that. But it too will take a deer, sometimes.

Unless you were to shoot a deer at close range (under 50 yds) directly in the brain, a .22 rimfire probably won't do much more than draw a little blood. This puny caliber is illegal in most, if not all, states for big game use. It is suitable for target practice, competition, and small game like rabbits and squirrels, but never a deer-sized animal.

R U SERIOUS??hell no you cant a .22 no matter what brand aint near big enuff to bring down a deer unl;ess ya real close and make a perfect head shot but judging from the fact you even asked such a question tells me you wouldnt have the smarts to know that anyways. Check with the Arkansas DNR or game and parks commision for the OFFICIAL LEGAL weapons for use in that state.

NO! The Game Warden will have your hide! In some zones here the only legal killing device is a shotgun slug, other zones sometimes allow open-gun, which allows centerfire rifles OVER .22 cal and centerfire handguns over .357 . no .22 centerfire or especially .22 rimfires!
