.8 *10= 8
so the question is at a speed of 18 miles per hour how long would it take to run 8 miles.
18 miles / 60 minutes = .3 miles per minute
8 miles / .3 miles per minute = 26.667 minutes

I say the answer is that every one of them will die if they try to run 8 miles at 18 mph (especially since these guys weigh a whopping 475 pounds).
I ran the 200m dash in about 22 seconds in high school, which was my best time (full sprint). That would be 200m/22s = 9.09 m/s = 20.5 mph.
So I can run for 200m at a full sprint speed of 20.5 mph, imagine running for 8 miles at about 88% top speed (18mph/20.5mpg = 0.88). No human that I know of could do such a thing (especially if that human were to weigh 475 pounds).
Also, note that very few people can run the mile in four minutes or less. (1mile)/(4 min) = 1/4 m/min = 15 mph. So, you can't expect seven 475 pound guys to run 8 miles at a faster pace than some of the fittest people in the world can run the mile.
So, I stand by my answer that they will either pass out, die, or simply give up after about 200m.

their weight is irrelavent. time = distance / velocity
18 miles/hr = (.8x10) / time
time = (.8x10)/18 = 8/18 hours x 60 mins/hr (this is a conversion) = 26.67 minutes
but then again this might be a trick question because the inside lane of the track is slight shorter than the outside lane.

How long its take? . . . mean time.
Time = 0.44 hours,
Each person can start at same time, but the question give to you is a average speed of the person involved in the running. So, you can ignore the no. of person and its weight, because it is constant at all time, But --in a real situation it is different,

Ahh! Use your gray matter. One simple way to do this problem is to check your units. If you did MPH / M as the first poster did incorrectly, you will get an incorrect answer in /hour (per hour). If instead you did M / MPH, then you will get the answer in hours. Can you do it now?

(Time) = (Distance) / (Speed)
(Time) = (10 * 0.8 miles) / (18 mph)
(Time) = 0.44 hours = 26.7 minutes
... the men's weight and the number of them is extraneous information...
