I really need help. My hair is blonde but i dye it dark brown sometime cuz i really like dark hair, i think its very exotic. But the problem is whenever i dye it like 1 week later its not that dark brown i wanted it its like just normal brown and keeps getting lighter and ligher... what can i do to make it stay dark? (Right now i just dyed it so its dark brown but i don't want it to go back to just plain brown!)

Try a darker color next time so when it fades it will be the color you want. The fading is caused by washing it. You need to get a shampoo and conditioner that won't fade color!!

This question would have better served you being asked and answered prior to doing the color. Not after. As the step that should have been taken to secured depth deposit into your "blonde" locks is called a filler, which is done prior to adding color. Prior to adding any color, whether it is a permanent, semi or demi permanent. It does not matter. It also is not about whether you choose a darker color.

However for now what you could do is schedule an appointment at a salon "soon" (before fading at all) for a cellophane. It could help lock in the color and the next time have a stylist color your hair properly by doing a filler prior to a color application and that will start giving you the lasting deposit that you want.

What kind of dye are you using? I like Revlon High Dimension dyes... they only take 10 minutes and last really well. They always turn out darker than I want at first, and then lighten a little bit to the color I was expecting, and stay that color for a really long time.

Make sure it's not temporary. It should say on the box. Temporary color fades. Also, try another brand.Your hair might not want to take that color in. Also, try a darker shade of brown next time, so when it fades it will be darker.

hi I have just had my dyed blonde hair changed back to brown today by a hairdresser who put a hint of gold in it which warmed it up if you know what I mean which I could have left that way but I went ahead and had blonde highlights, looks well even if I am now broke, cost £45 but I could not have done it myself, when you do it yourself it will always lighten as that always seems to happen with a home colour.

it is loosing color because the hair is damaged and the cuticle is no longer sealed, more then likely from all the dyeing....if you want it to be darker a week or so after you dye it, just dye it one shade darker than youj want so it will fade to the color you want...or you can just use one of those brown color shampoos and conditioners...John freeda makes one

I agree with frances d. Buy a darker haircolor, and try not to wash it everyday, and when u do, use s&c for color-treated hair.
