The age gap only matters insofar as it matters to the two of you. I have heard of many reasons for a breakup but none of them has been "We weren't the right age for each other."

Still, other factors might be involved. If he's a great deal older, maybe he's more likely to be married and less likely to be a virgin. His experience in relationships might be higher than most guys your age, so maybe he's been hurt more and will have a harder with trust and relaxing. One advantage might be that you might be less inclined to get an immature guy.

Since you are asking the question though, maybe you are not ready to start the relationship yet. Whatever you decide, good luck!

Depends on the legality. Although I've always wondered if the reason why some men date younger women is because they can't find anyone at their maturity level their own age. Then again I'm 24 and dating a 36 year old man wouldn't be that weird, I don't know.

There is 10 years between me and my hubby. We met when I was 19 and he was 29. We have never found the gap to be a problem. We've been together 11 years now and are as happy as ever.
Age shouldn't matter, how you feel about the person is all that counts. You love a person because of who they are.

Depends on how old the girl is. If she is younger than 21 then I think it's too big of a gap. If the girl is 22 and the boy 34, that's not that big of a deal in terms of maturity level.

Gotta be above age of consent... but also for propriety's sake.

Depends on their actual ages too. .. if they are 16 and 28 it's a different thing to being say 46 and 58.

A lot also depends on the kindof people they are.. with some age truly is just a number, can be very much a heart calling to heart.

As long as they're both consenting adults, there's no problem.
My parents have a 13 year age gap between them- they started going out when my mom moved to my hometown to do research for the nuclear facility there.

Now... of course I have no issue with age gaps as long as feelings are genuine and not for publicity/money/evil intention stuff!

Sometimes someone young can be very mature for their age, sometimes someone older can be young at heart. From personal experience I think it's nice though to enoy your teenage years and even your early twenties with someonewho who is in the same frame of mind, mostly that just happen to be people of your own age. Plus I have observed that older men can be quite controlling with young girlfriends

As long as the younger person is over 18 years of age, if there is chemistry, go for it.
