No. I wasn't allowed to stay home alone overnight until I was 17. At ALMOST 15, she could be charged with negligence if anything happened to you.

A lot depends on the circumstances. Do you mean home alone ALL night long? ...or just home alone for a few hours, or a long period of time. Another factor is where are you located? In the country, far away from crime and danger? You are ALMOST 15. That means you are 14, and yes... that is too young to be home alone, especially at night if the circumstances are what your mother feels as being unsafe..

That depends on a lot of factors .. how responsible your parents see you as being, how they think you'd react in an emergency if you were alone, the area you live in, etc. It's not strict to want to keep your children safe .. it's proper parenting.
As much as a hassle as it may seem to you, they really are doing it for your benefit and well being. But you're not out of options. You can prove to them you're responsible enough to be left alone, by showing it in your day to day behavior. They'll catch on .. most parents are pretty smart that way ;) If it's a matter of your area, there may be little you can do until you're a bit older, but just keep in mind it's their fear of you being unsafe that prompts them to do these things.

Well, not exactly strict. More like paranoid. Have a serious talk with her and show her you're not only responsible enough to stay home alone, but that you won't throw a wild party while she's away and she'll come around eventually. :)

That's a little extreme..... you are 15 and I don't think its an issue for you to stay home by yourself. Sit down with you mom and have a civilized, "grown up" conversation with her about it and come to an understanding. See if you guys can come up with a way to test the waters. Stay calm and the conversation should help.

You are only 15 and your mom doesnt want you to stay in the house alone. You have to earn her trust. Show her you are more mature than she thinks. I guess she doesnt want to be worried with you being home alone.

Well I know when my parents did stuff like that it was because they didn't trust me. Have you done anything to make them distrust you?
But anything is possible. Some parents are over protective, some are too strict. You'd probably get better answers if you told us why your mother won't let you stay at home by yourself.

Grown men and women are getting killed in their own homes everyday. She's just being cautious. If she's gone to work she wouldn't be able to concentrate because she would be to worried about you. So give your mom a break she just loves you and is very careful. It's a lot of kids out here who wished their mothers did care. Tell her thank you and you love her too. Good Luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!

Wow, yeah, I thought my mom was strict when she wouldn't let me go to a concert in San Francisco when I was 15. Is she worried about you or just not trust you.

Your Mom just loves you and wants to make sure you are safe, it is a rough world out there! And also maybe she doesn't trust you to be alone? Teenagers can get into a lot of mischief!
