I will be spending christmas with them, so I want to get them something decent and i don't see them often as they live far away. All serious ideas very welcome . Thanks.

i must thank you all for your ideas. Some are helpful. I want to add that I have to travel from another country to see them, so some things are not easy to arrange like vouchers and some things not easy to transport. keep the answers coming. All appreciated.

Ask your boyfriend for ideas and what their interests are. Some suggestions:

A photo of the two of you in a nice frame
Tickets to see a show
Rail tickets so they can come visit you
A weekend break
Trip in a hot air balloon
Vouchers - depending on their interests: gardening, diy, clothes etc
A nice piece of stilton and a good bottle of port
Have a star named after them
Adopt an animal in their name

Above all, have a wonderful Christmas with them, enjoy their company and hospitality and make their son happy. As a parent, that's all I want from my children.

A lovely bouquet of flowers for the mum and dads favourite tipple would go down nice.

Or how about arranging for a meal after Christmas with parents as a thank you. I'm sure they would like that.

Usually what we do is have photos taken of the two of us. We put them in a really nice frame and give them to the parents. It's cheap and usually the parents really love it. Or you could go to www.winecountrygiftbaskets.com. They have some really cheap and good gift baskets w/ wine, cheeses, desserts, etc.
