I'm a colorist and I'm here to help you.
Really Super Cuts? say it three times outloud. Does it still sound like a good idea? Now I'm not bashing stylists that work in quick cut places but I truly believe you get what you pay for. A quality colorist/stylist is not going to work for $6 an hour. I own a salon in a small town the name of my salon is MY name. I named it that because I belive that when you walk out and someone comments on your hair, good or bad you say MY name, that in itself inspires me to do the best possible service that I can provide to you. Quick cut places usally have two types of stylists, fresh out of school, and ones that have given up or are burned out on trying to excel.Take the time make some calls ask people you see that you say to yourself "nice color". I talk with you I want you to know what is going to happen and I want to know that you might want to think about the look you are trying to achive. Does it suit your personallity? Is it something you are up to maintaining? Are you going to look good in it? Cheap gets you cheap. I'm not saying go to the most exspensive salon, what I'm saying is find one that cares! Think before you dye is doesn't come out with an eraser. It is your look find someone that cares I can't say it enough. If they don't care do you think you are getting thier best? Good luck and choose wisely grasshopper.

I got my hair colored a really dark brown, almost black, at Supercuts and the lady missed a few spots. First, they charge extra to dry your hair so when I left it was wet and looked all the same color but when I got home and dried it there were spots here and there that were still light. The lady did a good job in helping me pick out a great color she just either missed some spots or didn't let the die sit long enough, but I guess every stylist is going to be different.

I went there twice and got screwed over with people who cant cut, the 1st time I went back and the manager fixed it and did a wonderful job, (has to go shorter to fix what the other woman did)
so I went back for her again, she was busy but reccommended someone for me. She completley butchered my hair, I cried and cried and cried right there in the salon, she even had to use buzzars , thats how short the back was, I asked for layers in the back and she went so short she had to use clippers on my neck!!
of course I didnt have to pay for it but I assured them I would NEVER be back and she needed to get some stylists in there that know what they are doing!
STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You get what you pay for. The places with booked appointments are booked for a reason. Coloring hair incorrectly takes time to fix and you will only regret it.

If they did a good job, then it would be nice to tip. Cutting a child's hair may not always be easy because kids squirm and wiggle a lot (depending on the age). It wouldn't hurt to tip a couple dollars.

How would it feel walking around with Orange hair for 6 months to a year?
Go somewhere better. It's too important to risk. They've messed up my haircuts. I'd hate to see what they do with dye. Find someone reputable.
