What is your opinion about a almost 49 year old woman having long hair? The reason I ask is because it's really amazing how many people think that after a certain age, you should have short hair. So, go to my 360, look and tell me if you think I should cut my hair. If you're just going to tell me I'm ugly, please keep it to yourself, I've had someone answer me that way before. Thanks:)

I just turned 44 and also have long hair. I don't think it matters what your age is. Are you comfortable with long hair? Do you like the way you look? That's all that matters. Long hair is very versatile that's why I still have it. I think you look great!

I think long, healthy hair is beautiful at any age. I hope to have long silver hair some day. Just because it's a societal norm to have short hair if you're older than 40 (or older than 30, the way things seem now), doesn't mean you have to cut it! I am 45 yrs old and have always heard that women over 40 should cut their long hair. They say that women over 40 with long hair are trying to look young and only look like an old lady with long hair. I think that's bullcrap.
My feelings on long hair are this:
Shorter hair styles, especially on older women, make a woman look classy.
Looking at your picture I would suggest (and this is only MY opinion)
Because you have very dramatic eyes, I would cut my hair in layers, real wispy and towards your face where the layers around your face lay on your face. KInd of a messy wispy look with no part. Definitely bangs across your forehead because you do have a larger forehead. I think you would look awesome with a haircut like that.
But it's totally your decision whether you keep long hair or cut it. Whatever makes YOU happy.

There's nothing wrong with your hair, its lovely (Is it dyed? The colour really suits you!).
I've heard the opinion that you should cut your hair at a certain age but I don't see why. People that tell you to cut it probably have short hair & are jealous! Short hair might not even suit you!
My aunt is 60 & has waist length hair, she has it up in elegant buns & things most of the time & although its going a bit peppery grey, she just wouldn't be who she was with shorter hair.
Don't cut it, if you like it how it is, keep it how it is!

You have a very slender face, and a shorter 'do would be okay for you. But not because of age. I think as long as you're happy with how your hair looks, fudge the rest of us! I think that you're pretty! I think that your hair is pretty, too. If you feel like you need a cut, go for it! I would do a sleek bob at the jawline with some layers in it to make your hait look thicker. If you kept bangs, make sure that they cover your forehead.... not that it's big, it's just the style right now.

The only reason people say that about older women is because some women's hair looks unhealthy when it gets long after a certain age. As long as you take care of your hair it will be beautiful. I think it looks complimenting on you.

Honestly, it's hard to see how long your hair really is because the photo doesn't show much, but I have long hair and my hair dresser told me not to cut my hair until I get older. I'm like what is that all about?

If you don't mind taking care of it, I'd say go ahead! Who cares what other people think and plus, I think the reason most people cut their hair short when they reach their 30's or so is because most of them don't have the time to do something with. Hope I helped:)

Long and straight hair emphasizes the face. I like long hair, but in your case you would look better if you covered your forehead. Also, a cut in capes would look better. Don´t need to cut it that short. You could also try a new color.

I don't think women should cut there hair when their older cause it just makes them look older anyway. No u don't need 2 cut your hair.
