Everyone in the world, everyone in the right mind, except the US, knows it's the Northamerican Invasion.
How do you think Texas was "won". The real word should be stolen.
The US criticizes those enganging in Imperialist wars, but attacking a country which just finished a bitter independence struggle is very hypocritical.
Look at the facts, Mexico fought for 11 years (1810-1821), Texas was stolen in 1836, and the "Mexican-American War" occured just 10 years after. But the gold in Mexican territory had nothing to do with that, right guys?
Mexicans will get our due share. I for one, am.

Some people say it was paid for, but the money was just a token gesture to avoid being called hypocrites.
Some people say it's history, but this is the start of Mexican migration into the US. Plus a lot of people were unlawfully deported and illegals from the US poured over proper Mexican territory.
And the US still criticizes Imperialist conflict. Wasn't that the purpose of Gulf War I, to halt Saddam's imperialism?
Hypocrites.

Texas won its independence after defeating Santa Anna and the Mexican army in 1836. General Santa Anna was taken captive by the Texas militia and only released after he promised to recognize the sovereignty of the Republic of Texas.
In the decade after the war, Texas consolidated its position as an independent republic by establishing diplomatic ties with Great Britain and the United States.
Consequently, Texas became the 28th state in 1845.
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, signed on February 2, 1848, ended the war and gave the U.S undisputed control of Texas as well as California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. In return, Mexico received US-$18,250,000.

There was a war between the United States, and Mexico. Mexico lost. The year was 1846, the president was Polk, and the original aggressor was Santa Ana, I believe. You'll have to sit down and study it for yourself. Short version, though, as american artillery encircled Mexico City, and arrangements and negotiations were carried through to allow the Mexican people to keep most of their country, they signed the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, which effectively ceded the southwestern territories to the United States. That was followed in 1853 by the Gadsden Purchase, where Mexico was awarded an additional 15 million dollars for the land.
I think in view of ALL the foreign aid we've given Mexico over the years, including all the tolerance of their systematic breaches of our borders, that they're about due to give up another 10-mile wide strip off the top, there...may as well get some land out of the deal, we'll certainly never see the money again...

Ok there was a war, the Mexican army was beat back all the way to Mexico city. The American Government ended up paying (I believe the sum was 15 Million dollars, quite a bit for those times) to Mexico for the land.
Mexico will Never get the land back and I suggest they move on and quit bellyaching about what "didn't" happen. There are Written accounts of the whole thing......whether or not you and your la raza crowd wants to own up to that fact. History is history it can not be changed or altered. No matter how hard you would like it to be.

The correct term is the Mexican War which was a legitimate war during which Texas was won from Mexico, NOT stolen. All´s fair in love and war.

Yes, there was a Mexican-American war. Your additional details do not support or deny your question in any way. I don't know why you put that in. Besides, why are you criticizing the US based on a war over 150 years ago? Things have changed.

You're right, it wasn't the Mexican-American War; that would imply that the Mexicans fought back.
It should be called the Great Mexican Asskicking. Because that's exactly what the Americans did to the Mexicans.
Keep smoking the chiba, jeffe.

It seems there are many versions of history. But I would think about today and quit thinking about what is not.

Mexico is too poor. Don't diss Mexico when the USA won't do anything to help them out. Yeah there was a Mexican war. What planet are you from. That was when the USA got it into their heads to introduce "Women" into the army. Women have no place in the army except as maybe a doctor. They can't shoot a gun, can't run fast, and are too f***ing emotional.
