There are also illegal immigrants from other countries, South America, Easter Europe, Middle East, Far East, Chinese particularly.

True but I think people are focusing on the Mexican illegals because they are more of a majority. I work in construction. We have whites working for us, a few blacks and a whole lot of mexicans.

Not to mention the fact that when the immigration issues came up this past year who made the most noise? Mexicans. Their country is right below us so the influx of Mexicans will be greater than other countries because it's easier for them to get into the US than it is for other illegal immigrants.

That would be my opinion at any rate.

Because Mexico is on our southern border, and Mexicans are very unhappy with conditions there, we have a large number of illegal immigrants from there. It is not that we have no other issues, but it is a larger group coming across the border, and thus a more pressing issue.

If I have a broken leg and a splinter in my finger, my biggest concern is the broken leg.

The rules for immigrants vary greatly from country to country. At this time, I understand that the Mexican immigrants have a harder time getting the correct paperwork but in most places there is just a river or fence stopping them from coming over. Due to a lack of a decent wage in Mexico, many of them opt to come over illegally to support their families.
Personally, I fault both governments for the problem.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't. I am wondering if maybe it seems that way since it is the border with the US/Mexico that is being talked about most. And there are many reasons for that. Think about the illegal drugs that are being smuggled over that border. I also wonder how carefully Mexico is in monitoring people entering their country from mid eastern countries (or any country that harbors terrorists) With all of the traffic across the Mexican border, how many people intent on harming Americans are crossing?

The big border. The biggest concern is that it's not just letting in Mexicans: it's letting in illegal immigrants from all over the place. Besides that, it's a numbers thing. the number of Mexican illegal immigrants easily outweigh the number of all other illegal immigrants.

Probably because Mexicans make up the largest group of people who are gaining access to the US illegally, via the unprotected southern border. Illegal ALIENS (they are NOT "immigrants") from Mexico are also the most vocal about how THEIR "rights" to be here have been "violated". Illegal aliens from other countries make up a rather small percentage, overall, and those coming here from countries other than Mexico are more easily apprehended, as they have to get here via boat or plane. Your "facts" are a bit skewed, and so is your perception, IMO. The American outrage over illegal aliens entering this country is not based on race, in any event. It is based on what it legal. And we as a people really don't care WHERE "you" come from - if you entered illegally, YOU ARE BREAKING THE LAW. Period. NO ONE who gained access to this - or any - country illegally can claim the status of "immigrant", so, get your language straight.

Because the vast majority are from Mexico and Central America, and because we border mexico it is easier for illegals to cross.

And I'm sorry when people say it's because of racism, they obviously never paid attention in History class, Americans complained when the huge wave of Irish came over, before that it was the German's, Austro-Hungarians, and Eastern Europeans. People flooded into Ellis Island and were discriminated against from the get go, and badly, they lived a whole lot worse than the illegals do now.

Because of the sheer numbers. Keep in mind I don't have anything against any race as a whole, just against people who come here and try to get welfare that comes from honest taxpayers' paychecks instead of working hard.

1. Look how easy it is for them to cross our border and establish themselves here (and bring their entire families along, and blend in with the others). How many Chinese people do you think are swimming across the ocean right now?
2. They come here and proliferate to extensive degrees. How many Catholic Chinese or Indian families do you see having six babies a household and suckling off the welfare teat? Try living in a community that's almost 90% Mexican like I do and you'll see what I mean
3. A greater percentage of immigrants from these countries hold steady jobs and proportionate families. Many of them also contribute specialized skills. I'm not saying all of them do, but fewer of them come here, and more of the ones who do work hard.

They probally believe that Mexicans are the only illegal immigrants and I don't think that's right because there are other illegal immigrants in other countries.

Of course, that IS the case, but the vast majority comes fro Canada or Mexico, because they dont need to hitch a ride on a boat or plane, thusly making it easier. It's also true that the News actually makes people think that. Have you ever seen media coverage on some polish ileegal immigrants???
Exactly :)
