I've heard some people say that when they tell them they are devout Catholics - they leave. If you have never let them in - maybe you should - and then from that point foward you can say "Oh - I've already had a visit - and thank you - but I don't care for another."

Just put a simple "No Soliciting of Any Kind" on your door. If that doesn't work just say "no, thank you" and close the door when they come. The missionaries will usually respect this request so the door closing shouldn't be necessary.

If you ask them to make sure they make a note that you don't want any missionaries ever coming by they should honor that. They typically keep records of that sort. Good luck. My problem is I can't ever catch the Jahovah Witnesses, I just love those chats.

Asking them not to come back doesn't work. And a sign on your door saying "No Soliciting" doesn't work either because they don't think it's soliciting.
I've been told by mormons that the only way to stop people from coming to your door is that YOU have to call the local Mormon church and get your name put on a list.
Stupid and idiotic if you ask me. It doesn't take much to write my bloody address down when you come to my house and then give it to your church so they know. It's called the mormons being lazy and trying to "leave you open to the word of god".
Rude is what I call it.

I am Mormon...... I am sure that they are only trying to be nice in some way. You need to just talk to them and be honest.
Just say politely " I would really appreciate it if you would not coming by!" you can be firm and still not rude at the same time it will work.
Good Luck..... :)

Well, you can ask them to leave.
Tell them
you do not want to follow the teaching of Joseph Smith. Even if the LDS church is a great place for family community, you would rather be with the truth and you do not think Joseph Smith is the truth. So can you please take my house off your list of places you visit! Thank You have a nice day!

Put up a no solictation or trespassing sign. Or just tell them not to come to your house anymore. I think certain elders assigned to specific areas.

If you figure that out let me know!!!
Everytime there is a new group put in place (new bishop, new missionaries) they come back.
I've tried nicely, I've been polite, I've been direct, I've been rude, I've yelled and I've threatened and the STILL keep coming back!
We've changed states THREE times (not running from them, just the job moved us) and they STILL keep finding us.

As a LDS, I certainly would not try to irritate my fellow men,
So, put a sign up, saying " Mormons missionaries, Please do not knock", I am sure they respect that.
