Haha what an excellent question.
If to be moral, you need to be 'faithful' as many religious types contend, then why are a majority of wars over religious issues? Why do religious people do bad things? Why do people wearing crosses kill people. It just isn't consistent.
I am an atheist and would consider myself to be very moral. Morality isn't caused by religion or by being an atheist.. People are moral because they empathize and care.
Associating morality with religion is one of the many ways that religion has been able to indoctrinate the masses.

The Book says, "There are those who don't have the Law, yet live thier lives
according to the Law. They are a Law unto themselves."
A person can be moral without a religious belief, as that person still has a spirit within,
a Conscience!
But I ask you. Is indulging in immature insecurities, and needing to belittle others
to make onesself feel BIG, the mark of a MORAL person?
The wise embrace understanding, and become MATURE men and women!

Long before Jesus, people lived and died according to their tribal customs. And like humans from every walk of life, they had morals and ethics. Jesus is not noted as a philosopher of morals, but a political reformer.

Why can't you be? You have to live in this world too don't you? Isn't the world a nicer place if you're not trying to hurt everyone around you?
Yeah, I thought so.
You don't need religion to be moral, you just need society to teach you whats acceptable and whats not.

Consider the source of your own supposed morality. I would choose to follow the one without sin.
