"Blue's Clues" is a fantastic show for children. Never too young for it. It not only entertains their great minds, but teaches them mathematics, sign language, deduction skills, manners, and a little of everything else.(other than bad stuff) My little girl watched it all the time and she was reading by the age of three years old. Of course, that is not the only reason, but it encourages your child to learn. It stimulates their great minds.
As for what doctors say, my daughter was in the hospital in intensive care for 4 weeks as an infant, and the first thing the doctors did, bring a TV in her room and put it in easy view for her. (to stimulate her mind)

Well, I have to admit that I watched Blues Clues and Dora the Explorer with my three year old brother in second grade, and I enjoyed it!!! But, I enjoyed any kids show up until sixth grade. A lot of little kids feel the same way (well, maybel not as long as I did)... One and a half might be a little too young to watch TV, though.
Ahh, yes, the days of PBS... not that long ago, was it? I remember that was the only channel I watched in grades K-5, and I'm in the eighth grade now. They cancelled all of the good shows in my area. Every kid in grades K-3 used to beinterested in PBS... now it's all about the new Fairly Oddparents for grades K-8

The only thing I would advise is getting Blues Clues on DVD or VHS to omit the irritating commercials. While, I don't object to watching television, I cannot stand the amount of "gimme" commercials there are on Nick Jr, Nickelodeon and Disney. I just wish we could go back to the days of PBS!

Love it. My children 2 and 3 love it. Fun show, teaches a lot, They only like a show if I watch it with them and participate, When Steve or Joe says Hi we all say HI Steve, or Hi Joe And when they ask a question we all answer.

Not as educational of a program as you might think. I would have them watch no television when they are that age. This would be the age where they need to develop their minds. Have your child do puzzles or something that is more hands on so there mind and motor skills can develop. If T.V. is a must then something like "Dora", that show can actually teach kids something.

Children shouldn't watch television until they are at least 2 yrs. old. Blues Clues is great--when they are older and it is safer for them to watch tv. People give me "thumbs downs" when I mention they shouldn't watch tv until they are 2, but I'm just going by what doctors say.
Maybe consider getting her some Blue Clue's toys until she's a bit older. Toys are much more stimulating than a tv show.

My son adores that show. It is great for all kids. There is nothing even slightly offensive or creepy. She will adore it, I am sure.
Try it out!
