I have 3 kids, the youngest is 9. They all do this, all you can do is put socks and pajamas on him. If he gets cold he'll wake up and either get the blanket or cry! But it's just a toddler thing.

I agree with most people above its either he's too hot, he's dreaming or like my son he's a wriggler! I also agree with the footed pyjama idea, first let him sleep one night without, when he kicks the covers check his feet, if they're cold start putting him in the pyjamas otherwise leave them for when the real cold sets in.
Its true children can't control they're body temps like adults but by the age of three, he's much more adapted then my 7 month old. Also babies and toddlers have notoriusly bad circulation in their limbs, so his feet might not be the best indicator of his core temperature. Maybe try bed socks.

I don't see why this should be an issue. Let him sleep without any blankets. I disagree with the pajamas being too hot. If he doesn't want the blanket and you are concerned that he will get cold, just put him in some footed pajamas. I'm sure he'll be okay.

Hes probably hot. I wouldnt recommend putting him in real warm pajamas like those footy ones, because he cant really control his temperature and end up sweaty and uncomfortable. Hes 3 years old if hes cold he will pull the blanket up.

Try putting him in an all-in-one suite to keep him warm when he kicks the blankets off.

Either he hates the blanket or he's hot and doesnt like being covered at night. My 3 yr old niece hates to be covered too and thats because its hot.

If the room is warm enough and he has warm PJ's on does it matter? - try getting cellular blankets that don't weigh so much - it may be that he doesn't like the feel of a heavier blanket.

a friend of mine recently asked me this question your child is old enough now to kick off the blanket if they are hot or to pull it up to keep them snug and warm try not to worry to much, it also shows that your child feels safe and secure so good on you keep up the good work and good luck

my 2 yr old always kicks off his covers and when i asked my midwife about this she said if he was cold he would cry or cover himself back up, which now he does!
its nothing to worry about at 3 he is old enough to realise that if he is covered up he wont be cold also try timing the centeral heating so its on at regular intervals through the night!!

If that's the case..do what I do...for my sons..I make sure they have warm pj's and socks on their feet...my husband says they have mini freezers in there feet!! But that way..you don't have to worry about them being cold at night after they kick them off...Truthfully...I kick covers off too!!! LOL
