I think the truth is the truth and should always be told (however, there is most always a way to impart the truth that doesn't necessitate being cruel)

Sometimes, beingcruel is necessary. However using that as an excuse to force others to your viewpoint is not only wrong but immoral. The incidence of cruelty being necissary is exceedingly small. and the few times it is used is generally to shock someone into understanding the truth.

You may catch more with honey, but that is fleeting. Being blunt and truthful may not catch a lot, but those it does are cut to the bone, heart, and soul long after the honey is gone. That is when real thinking, real truth, and real understanding begin.

depends upon how you mean the word " cruel " as some might consider hurting another person's feeling as " cruel " while another person might call this " honesty. "
