It has to be basic, as we can only use certain ingredients. It's pasta with a cheese sauce, and bacon. It has to take around 20 minutes or less to cook and prepare. If anyone could please help me find a recipe for something to go with it, I would be very greatful.

Thanks,

Norman.

You're making carbonara - yum.

Steam some broccoli. Chop and saute in a pan with crushed red pepper flakes and garlic. Season with sea salt and pepper. Spinkle parmesan on top and serve.

I would go with the broccoli... I have stainless steel waterless cookware, but any saucepan with a tight-fitting lid would work... toss the cut up broccoli in the pan, add about a quarter-inch of water to the pan and a few minutes (7-8) before you are ready to serve, turn on the fire under the pan... as soon as water starts to boil, cover the pan, remove from heat and let it sit. It will steam the broccoli in about 5 minutes, it will be crisp-tender, bright green (and beautiful color on your plate with the pasta) and ready when you are. (I always serve broccoli on Thanksgiving for this very reason... too busy to keep an eye on a vegetable)
As far as seasoning the broccoli... you're the cook, expiriment.

I like lemon, garlic and butter.... Olive Garden used to do a broccoli side dish that was wonderful, but I can't remember the seasoning... garlic and/or lemon, I think.

Presentation goes a long way towards influencing the taste. Something that looks bland on the plate is not as appetising as something colorful... also, if you have a pallette of colors, you probably have hit enough of the food groups to make it healthy.

Good luck!

How about 3 veg roasted in the oven, like Peppers, Mushrooms, Courgettes. It will take you about 5 mins to prepare and get the pan ready and then just put in oven with your Lasagne.

Given your time and ingredient constraints, I'd say you should go with Buttery Lemon Broccoli & Garlicky Salty Cheese Bread.
