The US sucks for immigrants. Period.
Dont make the mistake and come here or worse yet stay here.
Once I get my PhD, I am getting out of here.
Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Sweden, Belgium.
These countries and many more top the US in quality of life, and are very liberal and open to immigrants.
The US is not mine and will never be in my lifetime.

I was unaware how much racism there is in the US. After a friend told me about Yahoo Answers, and how pent up it truly is, my mind is made up.
Like I said dont trust the brochures.

I dont pay taxes really. I am a student getting taxed at most 5%.

I think it's for geographical reasons. It's simply closer. You are right about those other countried being more open to immigrants. I think that's sad. America used to be that shinning beacon on the hill bringing hope for new immigrants. Remember the quote:

Julio, I must say I'm amazed by the amout of racism too. This can't really be a reflection of the real attitudes in this country. I keep seeing so many unfair stereotypes and insensitivity. Most imigrants just want a better life. Don't we all want that? We are all brothers and sisters under God. I so sorry people are being so ulgy.

We're the closest country that will give them everything to live a comfortable life without working. They just have ten babies and live off welfare. Nice life. For THEM. WE pay for it throught the taxes that are deducted out of our paychecks EVERY payday. Look at your check, see the amount of taxes taken out. Figure out how much that is each year. What could YOU do with that money?? Why should you pay for people who never paid into our taxes, pople who aren't even legally in our country, taking out of our economy and sending it back to their home country? I, for one, am a true AMERICAN and I will not be run out of my homeland by a bunch of freeloaders. I will fight till my dying breath. If I were to go to another country it would be due to other reasons (job, family, etc.).

You can say 'racism' all day long, what it really is, is intolerance for communism, B.S., and sob-stories. Just because you demand something doesn't automatically mean that America's obligated to give it to you. Go spread communism somewhere else. Thanks. On second thought, get a job.

Julio, don't forget Canada....My brother moved there from Mexico City and he and his wife absolutely love it.....He owns a home and a small business......MUCH better quality of life than US or Mexico...

The U.S. is geographically closest and offers a better standard of living for them than their own country, or the Latin American countries.
I think they should just rise up, overthrow their government who has failed them, and create a new government. But that's just me...
