Yes and it`s quite special,it`s good to say sorry to God for our sins, true repentance is just that, but sometimes you feel awful for what you have done and just can`t shake the guilt, and it`s such a relief to hear that it`s okay from the Priests mouth.
I always feel like i am walking on air after a good confession, and that the weight of my sins has been taken off me and I am clean again,it`s like a sauna for the soul.

As a child I was forced to go. To be honest, as I was just a child, the experience bored me. I couldn't remember anything I had done wrong because I was a kid, so I used to make things up. The priest must have thought I was a real delinquent. Then when told to say five Hail Mary's or whatever I would just daydream.
Not wanting to be offensive to Catholics who are helped by confession but I don't think it helps kids any.
As an adult, guilt has been a large controling factor in my life. But now I am learning to realise that I am not a bad person and that if I have done someone wrong then I have to make it better with that person and try to learn from the experience and move on.
Not that confession isn't a good way for some people to feel as though they are purging themselves, but just think about your 'sins' and try to put them right and move on, otherwise you will be stuck in a rut, you won't grow or develop spiritually or otherwise.

Yes I have. What of the experience do you wish to know? I was truly repentant for many atrocities I have commited in my life, and when I cofessed those sins, I wept. I still weep when I remember doing those things. God may have forgiven me, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to forgive myself. As to what those sins were, isn't that between me, God, the priest, and the victims of those actions?
**edit**
Then, what of the experience do you wish to know about? Please be more specific.

Yes I have been many times. I always get very nervous, but when I am finished I feel like a weight has been lifted from me. It is a wonderful experience.
God bless,

Yes. I usually felt like Fr. Lawrence was in a hurry to get me out of there. He didn't seem to care what I did or anything, just basically seemed like "Tell me and get out so the next person can get in."

No. If I am sinning, I believe I will pay for it in my next life and am not going to worry about it until then.

I've only confessed to my Saviour. He forgives and forgets. No need for a middle-man.

i've never been there becuz it says in the bible, 'no one may come unto the Father but by me' jesus said that. so telling your sins to a paster is wrong. worshiping mary and the saints is idol worship. oh, and i'm not catholic. i'm non-denominitial.
