I know, right? CHRISTIANS are the ones who are oppressed?? Please.
Wiccan soldiers in the US military can't even get the pentacle put on their gravestone! They fought for this country and this is how their country repays them?? They are DENIED this right even though Wicca is a recognized religion in the US. What bullcrap!!

The ones who think they're persecuted are just upset because we've managed to keep church and state seperate (so far). They won't be happy until we all convert or move out of the country.
I agree and sympathize with you. I know many people of pagan faith who have had their children taken from them and have lost jobs due to their religion. I've also known people who were physically attacked, or had their homes, cars, and pets attacked because they were pagan and the local Christian club found out.
As far as I see it - if they're starting to see the same thing - it's called karma. What goes around comes around. We've been dealing with this sort of thing forever. Now - the non-Christians don't have the fear of Christians that they used to. And they're standing up to the Christians. Some Christians don't like it. This is the first time in centuries they've had anyone question them or disagree with them.
BTW - you can get a legal wedding! :)

I used to belong to a religion in which those who followed were persecuted by both Christians and Wiccans. I understand the feeling of being persecuted. It is very difficult to deal with. I have since then become a Christian, but I decided, with that, to never take part in such discrimination & try to show only love to my fellow human beings. I know Christians are not persecuted in America. The members of many other religions are. The poor are. And I am trying to be one of the few Christians to stand up for their rights & not be selfish. I wish other Christians would do the same, but I cannot control them or speak for them. I wish you the best of luck in everything.

I am a Christian, and as such, wish you nothing but the best that life has to offer. It's a shame that some people are so caught up in the 'religion' part of Christianity, that they forget how to be a Christian. A true Christian, will never put you down for what you believe in. Oh, they may try to get you to change your mind, but an honest to goodness Christian, never judges another human. So, good luck, God Bless, and I hope that everything works out for the best.

I really wish they would get over it too! I am a Wiccan too, and I can't talk about it too anyone because I tried and now the person won't talk to me anymore. If Christians think they need to be perfect to get into Heaven, why are they so mean to people who are different than them?
I read this really cool book called In the Land of Winter by Richard Grant, which is about a Wiccan mother whose daughter is taken away. I think you might enjoy it!
Blessed be

Was is Christians who took away your job? And what, specifically did being Wiccan have to do with losing your job? That is religious discrimination pure and simple and you should have a very good case. As far as your legal wedding goes I'd just say hang in there because it should work your way soon.
P.S. I'm a Christian in case you don't check my profile.

This is exactly why I've only peeped out of the broom closet a few times. It makes my blood boil when Christians say they're discriminated against because we don't want our children to learn their prayers in our school. Hello! How would they feel if we started demanding schools teach classes in herbology and crystal work next door to the intelligent design courses they keep trying to push into curriculum?!
Blessed be, sister, blessed be.

Forgive me, I swear I'm not trying to pick a fight. I just don't understand your issue. I'm a Christian who was married to a Jew and have Muslims in my family as well and friends who are Wiccan. I honestly try to respect other people's beliefs, just as I want mine respected. But I don't understand. Why can't you have the "legal" wedding you want? What have Christians got to do with that, unless you want a Christian wedding.

It shouldnt be about "right or wrong". We shoudl all be able to respect each other dispite our differences in religions. Unfortunately there are alot of people who think Wicca is devil worship. Sad.
I am a christian and you are wiccan and we should be able to come together as friends, afterall we are both still human. I do not know why people can be so cruel when it comes to religion.

It is illegal in the U.S. for your employer to discriminate against you because of your faith. I'm sure you know that.
It is also illegal for the CPA to remove your child from your home because of your faith...
unless, of course, you were planning on sacrificing him, or some such rot, which would count as abuse...
There is nothing that would prevent a wiccan from having a "legal wedding"....
But, of course, you are gay, aren't you? And that is the real reason you had trouble at work, and why you had problems with the CPA, and why you can't get "legally married"....
You are just hiding in the broom closet.
FOR SHAME!!!!!!!!
