My parents stayed together for me but I finally told them to get divorced because they couldn't stand each other and it made my life miserable listening to them fight all the time. Now they are both so much happier and so am I.

If you're only in it for the kids you may as well abadon them right now because they know when a mother and father have problems and they feel they are to blame. If you are in that situation then you should have never had kids to start with. Not saying that to be cruel but it's unfair to your kids to deal with you and your spouses marital issues. And believe me if they haven't caught on yet they will. I am not in my marriage for my son. I am in my marriage because I love my husband and I wanted to to share my life with him. People who are in it for the kids should never have married or reproduced.

Not me. That's terrible, and the kids are the ones paying for it.
